Brief Description from NYX:
Transform your look, or float from day to night, with a dash of celestial sparkle. Our palette of five gel-based glitters can be used to embellish eyes, cheeks and lips. Two applicators with sponge and brush tips included. Available in 7 combinations.
This product was purchased at my local ULTA about a year ago. I felt I needed to make my own review because there are reviews out there that I believe are unfair on this product. I cannot stress enough that this product is NOT an eyeshadow and was not meant to be used as one. The gel cream is not pigmented and will not color the skin on its own.
The best way to use this product is to apply desired eyeshadow and add this product on top. I have found it is best to use a color closer to the color of the glitter as a base. You can experiment, but that was a preference for me.
A huge tip for using this is to keep it on the eyelid and away from the crease. It will crease no matter what eyelid primer you use. I used Urban Decay's Primer Potion and it still didn't keep it from creasing. I have also found it is much easier to pat the product on with the sponge applicator's included, brushes are not recommended.
A few cons of this product are the fact that the top coat of the pan is nothing but glitter, but once you dig into it the glitter is scattered throughout the gel. The glitter is also very chunky It can also be messy to work with and it is best removed with make up remover.
I would recommend this as a night product to be worn out to clubs, on a date, or even dinner. The number one thing to remember is, make up is fun so don't take my word for it, experiment yourselves.
Geek Appeal: Ever wanted to be a glittery vampire, a fairy, maybe a very shiny elf? This will always be a great product for adding a little oomph to any cosplay or Halloween costume, the price is also very friendly.
If you have this product, what do you think about it?
